Your first intake appointment will typically be 55 minutes. The goal of this visit will be to get comfortable with one another and for us to get to know your history, current struggles and hopes for the future. By the end of this first session you’ll leave with our initial impressions and a “game plan” for moving forward. Therapy is a dynamic and collaborative process. We’ll work together to help you reach the goals that are important to you.
The frequency of sessions and length of treatment will depend on the severity and persistence of your concerns. Some people come to see us and get what they need in one session, others visit us regularly for several years. A common therapy process involves weekly sessions for the first 2-3 months followed with biweekly sessions for another 6-9 months.
